We are looking for a Surgical Technologist at Howard Memorial Hospital. We are a critical access hospital located in Nashville, Arkansas. We provide comprehensive patient-focused care in a variety of settings— emergency, surgical, inpatient and outpatient—delivered by skilled medical professionals. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for supporting safe and efficient surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting the surgical team. In a small critical access hospital, this role requires flexibility, independence, and the ability to support a variety of surgical cases with limited staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and available.
- Set up operating rooms according to procedure requirements
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
- Position patients and assist with surgical draping.
- Operate and troubleshoot basic surgical equipment.
- Perform instrument counts and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Clean and restock operating rooms following procedures.
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
- Support additional clinical duties as needed in a small hospital setting.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
- Certification (e.g., CST) preferred or required per facility policy.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
