Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Export Agent to join our international logistics team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in managing air and ocean export shipments within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating export operations from start to finish, managing shipping documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining effective communication with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage air and ocean export shipments from origin to final departure.
- Handle FCL, LCL, and air freight export operations.
- Prepare, review, and process export documentation, including HAWB, MAWB, Bills of Lading (BL), commercial invoices, packing lists, and other required shipping documents.
- File AES/EEI through ACE and ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations.
- Coordinate bookings with airlines, ocean carriers, trucking companies, warehouses, and overseas agents.
- Request rates from service providers and prepare customer quotations in a timely and professional manner.
- Handle incoming quote requests from internal and external customers.
- Monitor shipment status, follow up on cut-off times and departure schedules, and provide timely updates to customers.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, overseas agents, truckers, customs brokers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Resolve operational issues proactively to ensure service continuity and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation within the operating system.
- Ensure compliance with carrier requirements, export regulations, and company procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, specifically handling air and ocean export operations.
- Proven experience coordinating export shipments from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of export procedures, international shipping documentation, and U.S. export regulations.
- Experience handling FCL, LCL, and air freight shipments.
- Experience filing AES/EEI through ACE.
- Experience working directly with airlines, steamship lines, overseas agents, and trucking companies.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Magaya or similar freight forwarding software.
- Knowledge of bonded cargo and CFS processes.
- Experience handling time-critical or AOG shipments.
