Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team out in the field but Quincy as main location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about mechanics and committed to ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet. Our fleet includes off road heavy equipment and on road equipment as well.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, and alignment to maximize equipment lifespan and performance.
- Operate forklifts as needed for moving parts and equipment.
- Service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics issues accurately to minimize downtime.
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of complex machinery during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and inspection checklists to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Skills
- Proven experience with heavy equipment or automotive repair is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine diagnostics and diesel engine repair.
- Experience working with construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, loaders, and farm equipment like tractors.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and their maintenance
- Familiarity with tire service procedures and equipment.
- Ability to fabricate parts or components as required for repairs.
- Conduct inspections on vehicles to identify potential problems.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and other maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environments; excellent communication skills are a plus for effective team and managament interactions. Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
