Job Summary
Seeking veterinarian for a busy practice under new ownership! Owned by a young female doctor, open to full-time, part-time or even relief work! Typical full time position involves 3-4 10 hour days per week. Switching to EMR PIMS in September. Would love someone with surgical interests, currently no orthopedic procedures performed at the office but open to it if applicant desires. New grads welcome to apply!
Duties
- Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions across multiple species, including companion animals and exotics
- Perform surgical procedures ranging from routine spays and neuters to complex surgeries with precision and care
- Administer anesthesia using proper anesthesiology techniques, monitor patient vital signs, and ensure safe recovery
- Handle animals safely using restraint techniques suitable for different species and temperaments
- Conduct thorough examinations utilizing veterinary terminology and animal anatomy knowledge to develop effective treatment plans
- Provide emergency medicine and critical & intensive care for critically ill or injured animals
- Communicate clearly with clients about diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing pet care instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records following clinical ethical guidelines and aseptic techniques
- Assist in laboratory diagnostics, including sample collection, laboratory experience, and interpretation of results
- Support animal husbandry practices such as grooming, feeding, catheterization, and overall animal care management
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine by participating in continuous education on topics like cardiology, oncology, dentistry, internal medicine, and exotic animal medicine
Experience
- Proven veterinary experience with a strong background in general veterinary medicine and surgery
- Hands-on expertise in anesthesia administration, animal restraint, and handling diverse species including exotic animals and equines
- Experience in emergency medicine, critical & intensive care settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and clinical ethical guidelines is essential
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet health issues and treatment plans
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to diagnostic testing for various conditions
- Prior experience working within a team-oriented environment that emphasizes animal welfare and professional ethics
