Duties
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and chemical agents.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) and proper handling procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy linens, furniture, or cleaning equipment to maintain efficiency and safety standards.
- Care for floors through sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to uphold the hotel’s cleanliness standards.
- Manage janitorial supplies and equipment, ensuring all cleaning tools are maintained and stored properly.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly in case of incidents or safety concerns, ensuring guest and staff safety at all times.
- Assist with hotel housekeeping management tasks as needed, including inventory checks and reporting maintenance issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial work within hospitality or industrial cleaning environments.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical agent handling, and floor care practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Ability to utilize stairs to enter and navigate the buildings.
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to respond effectively in urgent situations.
- Experience with hospitality management or janitorial responsibilities is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering exceptional guest service standards.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
