Mira Health is building the AI operating system for orthopedic practices and ASCs. We're hiring an experienced NYC biller to advise on and work our denials and prior authorizations.
You'll work the hardest denials directly: drafting appeal letters, building upon our proprietary payer-specific strategies. That means complex orthopedics — multi-level spine, sports medicine arthroscopy, implants and hardware, bundling and modifier details, and prior auths that live or die on how medical necessity is documented up front.
Just as important: you'll sit with our AI engineers weekly and tell them where our prior auth and denials tools get the payer logic wrong. Our system also codes directly from operative notes, and you'll be the QA backstop, reviewing its output on the messy cases and refining it. Your expertise ships in the product.
What we're looking for
- Deep experience inside payer and UM portals
- A track record of overturned denials
- Command of orthopedic bundling, modifier logic, and ASC vs. office site-of-service rules
- The ability to break a convoluted payer process into steps anyone can follow (a new hire, an engineer, a practice administrator)
- You already use AI in your daily work
- You redesign a broken process rather than tolerate it

Pay: $29.28 - $35.27 per hour
