Job Summary
Razorback Mining Company is seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Heavy Equipment Operator / Lead to join our growing mining operation in South Hillsborough County. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands excavation, pit management, water control, production efficiency, and equipment operation and maintenance.
We are looking for a highly skilled operator — someone who takes pride in maintaining efficient operations, solving problems proactively, and helping keep production moving safely and effectively.

Duties
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, loaders, and support equipment
- Maintain proper grades, haul roads, and safe working conditions
- Help maximize production efficiency while minimizing downtime
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and teamwork to support construction or mining activities.
- Enforce safety protocols by monitoring work zones, ensuring proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and conducting safety briefings for team members.
Experience
- 7+ years experience operating heavy equipment in mining, earthwork, or large excavation environments
- Strong knowledge of excavation sequencing, grades, and water management
- Ability to read terrain and understand pit development
- Experience operating excavators and production equipment efficiently
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic and accountability
- CDL is a plus but not required
- Leadership experience is helpful, but this is primarily a technical field role
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment systems for troubleshooting and basic repairs.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with familiarity in site safety procedures and regulations.
- Knowledge of construction materials handling processes such as horizontal drilling and paving techniques is preferred.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
