We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, restorations, and X-ray imaging.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining a sterile environment through proper aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote lifelong dental health habits.
- Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems open dental efficiently for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
- Support infection control protocols by maintaining cleanliness of dental equipment and adhering to OSHA standards for a safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on pediatric dentistry preferred such as prophylaxis, pit and fissure sealants and nitrous monitoring certificates.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures.
- Proficiency in using open dental; familiarity with practice by numbers is a plus.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with skills in four-handed dentistry and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures and 3D scanner technology is desirable.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding for accurate documentation and billing.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
