Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, including specialized tools for cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, and pediatric procedures
- Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and handling tissues with precision and care
- Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent healthcare-associated infections and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
- Monitor vital signs and physiological responses of patients during surgery, adjusting support as needed in collaboration with the surgical team
- Operate medical equipment such as endoscopes, anesthesia machines, and sterilization devices with proficiency
- Collect data related to surgical procedures for documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or other medical records platforms
- Support trauma care efforts in Level I and Level II trauma centers by assisting with emergency procedures and treatment of fractures or acute injuries
- Assist in specialized surgeries including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, pediatrics, and minimally invasive endoscopic procedures
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Surgical Technologist in hospital or ambulatory surgery center environments
- Demonstrated expertise in handling surgical instruments, sterilization processes, and medical equipment operation
- Experience supporting complex surgeries such as cardiovascular surgery assistance or neurosurgery is highly desirable
- Familiarity with hospital medicine, emergency medicine protocols, trauma care, and critical care environments such as ICU or PICU settings
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile field
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic or similar platforms for accurate documentation of patient records and surgical data
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) are preferred
