Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team to help create an exceptional coffee/bakery experience for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting café environment, and providing outstanding customer service. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that each guest feels welcomed and satisfied with their visit.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the Toast POS system efficiently for order processing and cash handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, workstations, and dining areas.
- Engage with customers to provide exceptional service, taking orders accurately while offering recommendations based on their preferences.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food safety practices and ensure compliance with health regulations during food preparation and handling.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, supplies, and other products.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment while managing time effectively during busy periods.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining basic math skills for register operations.
- Opportunity to move into shift lead and/or open/close.
Requirements
- Previous barista or coffee experience is preferred (especially using a semi-automatic espresso machine) but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Familiarity with food service practices including food preparation, food handling, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using POS systems (Toast) is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and register operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $18.00 per hour
