Have at least 2 years of recent billing experience
Have medical software experience (Brightree preferred)
Are highly motivated
Have experience billing claims to Medicare
Are technologically inclined and quick to learn
Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal—telephone skills are a must)
Are self-starters
A good candidate must be proficient at:
- Batching
- Submitting claims on HCFA both paper and electronically
- Posting payments
- Accounting related to billing and running reports
- Working denials
- Negotiation with payers
