Position Overview
The ITAD Sort Technician plays a critical role in our processing operation. This position is responsible for accurately identifying, sorting, and tracking incoming electronic equipment before it moves through the next stages of processing.
Success in this role depends on exceptional attention to detail. Every device must be correctly identified and routed to ensure proper handling and secure data destruction.

Responsibilities
- Receive and sort incoming electronic equipment
- Identify device types and determine the appropriate processing path
- Accurately enter inventory into our tracking system
- Identify which devices contain data-bearing media such as hard drives and SSDs
- Label and organize equipment for downstream departments
- Move equipment to the appropriate processing area
- Maintain organized workstations and inventory
- Follow company procedures for chain of custody and data security
- Assist with general warehouse and operational tasks as needed
QualificationsRequired
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of computers and electronic devices
- Ability to identify common IT equipment such as:
- Laptops
- Desktop computers
- Servers
- Networking equipment
- Tablets
- Monitors
- Printers
- Understanding of which devices contain hard drives or other data-bearing storage
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
- Strong organizational skills and reliability
Preferred
- Previous experience in electronics recycling, IT, warehouse operations, refurbishment, or repair
- Familiarity with computer hardware and components
- Forklift experience (not required)
