Be home every night delivering and picking up locally within 150 miles of the metro Atlanta area. 2 local drivers with intermodal experience with the three rail yards in Atlanta.
Excellent communication skills required.
Working Monday through Friday, with optional weekend work available.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load, secure, and unload freight on various trailer types while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage route driving schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups across designated locations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to report any issues or delays that may impact delivery timelines.
Qualifications
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Proven experience operating tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, or similar freight vehicles.
Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling.
Experience with forklift operation is a plus for loading/unloading freight efficiently.
