American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry - Oncology position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and an active OH or compact RN license.

Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an oncology focus
-
Patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy treatment, symptom management, and comorbidity management, with a heavy emphasis on infection prevention and fall prevention protocols

Continuous cardiac monitoring is a core component of patient care on this unit

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4

Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (7:00–19:30 days / 19:00–7:30 nights); shift assignment is determined by department needs and reviewed each 4-week scheduling period

Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Epic EMR — experience required

Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds

Active OH or compact RN license required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Oncology experience preferred but not required

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Required skills: telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care and management, PICC line management, IV insertion, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation

2 professional references required — at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Local candidates are accepted

Former facility employees are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation from the facility

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront and built into the contract, with a maximum of 7 days

Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after booking — candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently upon receipt
