Certified nurse Aide (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for:
- The CNA/CMA must be capable of performing the following primary and essential duties:
· Refers medical questions to Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.
· Reviews CNA worksheets and performs nursing care as outlined.
· Receives and assumes responsibility for PHB, neighborhood phone, pager, gait belt, CNA worksheet, and keys to the medication cart if applicable at beginning of each shift.
· Cooperates in investigations as needed.
· Effectively communicates with co-workers, residents, volunteers, and their families.
· Observes, reports, and records information related to the patient’s condition.
· Assists new employees in learning and following established policies and procedures.
· Identifies resident problems and concerns and reports them immediately to a charge nurse or licensed nurse.
· Completes assignments timely, completely and accurately.
· Conducts resident rounds as assigned.
· Takes and records temperature, pulse and respiration rates.
· Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action and inform the charge nurse.
· Documents the residents’ ADLs, change in condition, mood & behavior, bathing, response or lack thereof, and how much assistance is required to manage this as well as documenting medications as administered. Completes documentation accurately, in a timely manner and in accordance with facility policies & procedures.
· Listens to resident and family complaints and reports problems to charge nurse promptly.
· Assures residents have a call light button within reach.
· Assures residents are given assistance with meals, nourishment and transportation to meal service area(s) as needed.
· Be present in dining room during meals.
· Consistently works cooperatively with residents, other Village Shalom staff, physicians, families, consultants and ancillary service providers.
Pay: $21.10 - $27.55 per hour
