Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across math and science subjects for grades 2 through 8.
- Incorporate educational technology and IT-integrated lessons to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere with effective behavior management strategies tailored to diverse learning styles.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and implementing best teaching practices.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students from various cultural backgrounds and with special educational needs.
- Facilitate laboratory experiments, dissections, and research projects in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and related fields.
- Guide students in scientific research activities, laboratory safety protocols, and scientific writing or proofreading tasks.
- Support students' academic advising and mentoring efforts to promote their overall growth and success.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and classroom activities in compliance with educational regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, Science or related fields; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven experience teaching math and science at middle school or high school levels; private school experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of mathematics topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, discrete math, and proofing techniques.
- Extensive understanding of science disciplines including cell biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry, molecular biology, laboratory experience, dissection techniques, and scientific research methods.
- Proficiency in integrating learning technology into classroom instruction to support diverse learning styles.
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to work effectively with teenagers from varied backgrounds.
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation aligned with educational standards.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and engagement with students’ families.
- Familiarity with educational compliance requirements and standardized testing procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt lessons for students with special education needs or different learning preferences.
