Job Summary
The Manager on Duty (MOD) at a hotel plays a vital leadership role, ensuring smooth daily operations across all departments during assigned shifts. This dynamic position requires a proactive, energetic individual who can oversee guest services, manage staff, handle guest concerns, and maintain high standards of hospitality. As the MOD, you will serve as the primary point of contact for both guests and team members, fostering a welcoming environment while ensuring safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities
- Oversee all hotel operations during your shift, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage outlets, and security.
- Lead and supervise staff members to ensure they deliver outstanding guest service and adhere to hotel policies.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly with a positive attitude to resolve issues efficiently.
- Manage shift-specific tasks such as cash handling, report writing, and maintaining accurate logs of incidents or operational activities.
- Coordinate with department managers to ensure smooth communication and execution of daily activities.
- Monitor safety protocols and emergency procedures to guarantee guest and staff security at all times.
- Support event management efforts by assisting with planning or troubleshooting during hotel functions or nightclub events hosted on property.
Skills
- Proven leadership skills with experience supervising teams in hospitality or resort environments.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience in shift management, report writing, and handling cash transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of nightclub operations, events management, and hospitality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively while maintaining a positive work environment.
