We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Primary Registered Dental Assistant to join our unique, one dentist, dental team. We are a small, well established family practice in Carmichael seeking someone who is experienced and self motivated, who can serve as the primary assistant to our dentist.
In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support our dentist and our hygienest in delivering high-quality general dentistry services In a very high paced environment.

Your duties will include:
- Assisting the dentist during a variety of general dental procedures ensuring smooth clinical operations.
- Prepare treatment rooms during set up and tear down by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Taking dental X-ray images while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and maintaining patient comfort.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Open Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during patient treatments.
- Support the dental receptionist by managing appointment time through patient management, ensuring seamless patient flow during the work day.
- Follow strict infection control procedures including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold healthcare infection prevention standards.
- Assist with dental instrument processing, ensuring all tools are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored for safe reuse.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation requirements to support accurate clinical communication.
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures.
- Prior experience with dental assisting including chairside assisting, radiography (X-ray), and sterilization processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control protocols including aseptic technique and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing compassionate support while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
- Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent is required; ongoing professional development in dental terminology, equipment operation, and medical imaging is preferred.
