Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our dynamic team here at Care4 Medical Transport! As an EMT you will perform non-emergency medical transportation duties and be primarily responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, assisting them with mobility needs, monitoring their health during transport, and ensuring their comfort while not providing advanced medical care, as their role focuses on safe and stable transport rather than emergency interventions.
Key duties include:
- Patient assessment:
- Performing a basic health check on the patient before transport to identify any potential issues that may need attention during the ride.
- Safe loading and unloading:
Assisting patients in entering and exiting the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids, ensuring proper securement.
Observing the patient's vital signs during transport and addressing any changes or concerns that may arise. Maintaining contact with the patient's medical team to receive any necessary updates or instructions regarding care during transport. Completing necessary paperwork including trip logs, patient information, and any incidents that may occur during transport. Providing a professional and courteous demeanor, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring a comfortable transport experience. Checking the vehicle's safety features and reporting any issues to ensure proper functionality. While not providing advanced medical care, being prepared to respond to minor medical emergencies and contacting emergency services if necessary.

- Understanding patient needs: Being aware of the specific medical needs of each patient, including any mobility limitations or special requirements.

- Maintaining confidentiality: Protecting patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
- EMT certification and experience in emergency medical services
- Proficient in airway management and basic life support
- Strong patient assessment and critical care transport skills
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and medical transportation protocols
- SC EMT Certified or ER-EMT Certified
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
