Clinical Magnet, a division of ICON Medical Network, is looking for a compassionate, dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our partner's full-time team in Charlottesville, VA. This opportunity offers the chance to work with the geriatric population while providing both clinic-based therapy services and participant visits within the community. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists and a supportive care team focused on delivering exceptional outcomes and improving quality of life.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Responsibilities
- Provides physician-prescribed occupational therapy services under a written plan of care established, delegated, and supervised by the Occupational Therapist.
- Implements individualized treatment plans designed to improve participants’ ability to perform activities of daily living and functional tasks.
- Collaborates with the Occupational Therapist to establish treatment goals and modify interventions based on participant needs.
- Adapts treatment environments, activities, tools, and materials to support participant safety and functional outcomes.
- Educates participants and caregivers regarding activities of daily living, home programs, and strategies to promote independence.
- Participates in interdisciplinary care planning and communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
- Completes clinical documentation, progress notes, medical records, and care plan updates accurately and within required timelines.
- Monitors participant progress and communicates changes in condition, needs, or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Consults with the Occupational Therapist regarding treatment recommendations, continuation, modification, or discontinuation of services.
- Completes participant visits and documentation according to organizational policies and standards.
- Participates in quality improvement activities and program evaluations.
- Maintains treatment areas, equipment, and supply inventory.
- Assists with durable medical equipment tracking and inventory management.
- Responds to participant service requests and referrals within established timeframes.
- Reports patient incidents, complaints, or concerns promptly to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Qualifications
- Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR certification
- Valid state-issued driver’s license, reliable transportation, good driving record, and required auto insurance
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with frail or elderly populations
- 2+ years of COTA experience preferred
- Bilingual skills preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly compensation: $28.85–$36.06/hour
- Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday
- 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Approximately 8:00/8:30 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM
- Approximately 25% travel required for participant visits
