Senior Staff Accountant (CPA Preferred)
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This
position is ideal for a CPA with 3–5 years of accounting experience who wants to move beyond
routine accounting and become an integral part of a fast-growing real estate construction and
development organization.
The successful candidate will work directly with executive leadership and assist with financial
reporting, month-end close, construction accounting, and continuous process improvement across
multiple affiliated companies.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for multiple entities.
Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account
reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Assist with construction accounting, including job cost reporting, WIP schedules, retainage
accounting, and construction draw support.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and balance sheet accounts.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external CPA firms and annual audits.
Assist with sales and use tax filings and other compliance reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Support special projects involving acquisitions, financing, and system implementations.
Preferred Qualifications
Active CPA license (or CPA exam passed and pursuing licensure).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
3–5 years of accounting experience.
Experience in one or more of the following:
o Construction accounting
o Real estate development
o Public accounting (audit preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Experience preparing complete monthly financial statements.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with QuickBooks (QBO / IES).
Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
