Electric motor winding isn’t just a job; it’s an art form that takes years of patience, precision, and mechanical aptitude to master. We know that, and we respect the trade.
AtlasElektro is currently looking for an Experienced Electric Motor Winder to join our shop. We are not looking for an entry-level apprentice for this role—we are looking for a seasoned pro who can hit the ground running, read the data, and confidently handle complex rewinds.
If you are a veteran winder who is tired of working in a shop with outdated equipment, or management that doesn't understand the complexities of the bench, we want to talk to you. We provide a well-equipped and professional environment where your highly specialized skills are valued.
What You Will Do:
- Independently perform random and/or form coil rewinding of AC and DC motors, generators, and armatures.
- Record precise winding data, dimensions, and connection diagrams prior to stripping.
- Operate burnout ovens, bake ovens, and Insulation/Varnish systems safely and efficiently.
- Cut, insulate, and install coils, phase insulation, and wedges.
- Braise, solder, and weld connections (Wye, Delta, etc.).
- Perform comprehensive electrical testing (Megger, Surge, Hipot, Winding Resistance) to verify the integrity of the rewind.
- Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, and rigging to safely move heavy stators and equipment.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience winding industrial AC/DC electric motors.
- Technical Skill: Deep understanding of winding connections, schematics, and the ability to interpret complex winding data.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience using micrometers, calipers, brazing torches, and precision testing equipment.
- Quality First: A profound sense of pride in your work. You know that a sloppy wrap or a rushed connection leads to a failure, and you don't cut corners.
- Reliability: Excellent attendance, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
What We Offer:
We know that top-tier winders are hard to find, and our compensation packages reflect that. While pay is based on your specific experience and capabilities, we aggressively benchmark our wages to be at the top of the local market.
