Cabinet & Millwork Sales and Estimating Position
We provide and install architectural millwork for hotels, restaurants, store fronts, TI’s and other commercial projects. This includes but is not limited to: moldings, cabinets, casework, reception desks, wall panels etc. We are looking for a candidate to join our team who has a strong background in construction/woodworking estimating and sales. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing project specifications and preparing accurate cost estimates. In Sales, you will visit clients and build client relationships for future work.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive bids and proposals for construction projects
- Review and analyze monthly and yearly estimate goals and bid on enough jobs to meet the goals required
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Prepare detailed take-offs and material quantity calculations for various construction elements such as cabinetry, trim, wall paneling, ceiling paneling, countertops, specialty items that may apply and installation for these items.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Research and obtain pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Assemble comprehensive cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs
- Present estimates to clients and participate in bid meetings as required
- Follow up with the bid results and details on who was awarded the project
- Communicate with other teams within our company for those projects awarded
- Maintain accurate records of estimating activities and update cost databases as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge and experience in estimating construction projects, cabinetry, trim, wall paneling, ceiling paneling, countertops and installation for these items.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with project stakeholders
- Must be able to pass background and random drug tests
- Must be approachable and get along well with others
Education:
- High School Diploma
- College or Vocational School preferred
Compensation:
- Full time (hourly) – compensation depends upon experience
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
