We are looking for a dedicated, patient and caring teacher. Hours will likely be 8:30-5:30 or 9:00-6:00PM with an hour break. Hours may vary between 25-40 hours. We do offer a Colonial Life plan and paid holidays after you complete 90 days with the company.
Responsibilities
- Create plans for daily activities in line with the school curriculum
- Engage with young children in activities that are age-appropriate whilst bearing educational merit
- Foster a positive and healthy learning environment
- Ensure the classroom is kept in a clean and safe condition at all times
- Read stories to the children as a group activity
- Keeping children clean, fed and freshly diapered.
- Potty training.
- Maintaining organization and communication in the room.
- Interact respectfully with other teachers and administrative staff as needed
- Communicate respectfully with parents regarding child development and progress
Qualifications
- 45 Hours of Certification from DCF
- 1-2 hours of curriculum training (to be completed by end of first week of employment).
- Prior experience working in Child Care.
- Must pass a level 2 background check prior to employment (we do not pay for this)
- Patient and supportive approach to the learning process.
- Enthusiastic and encouraging.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stand and move around for long hours at a time while teaching
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid
- Fire Extinguisher Training
