Summary / Objective:
Under direction from the Operations Supervisor, the Shipping Lead is expected to provide guidance and accountability for the performance of the packing & shipping processes. Additional objectives include compliance with any/all quality, regulatory and safety requirements. Duties and responsibilities include, but is not limited to the following:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and communicate the daily expectations to the Packing & Shipping Groups.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipping efforts.
- Provide daily material requirements to the Materials Group.
- Research and respond to customer shipping requirements from the Sales Group.
- Investigate and assist in the resolution of shipping related discrepancies & failures.
- Interact with and provide feedback to vendor representatives.
- Identify and communicate potential process and cost improvement opportunities.
- Promote and ensure strict adherence to safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Overtime and Saturdays may be required on an as needed basis.
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor or Vice President of Operations.
Performance Objective Metrics:
- On-Time shipment performance (goal = 100%).
- Shipment and documentation accuracy
- Housekeeping and department organization.

- Ability to distinguish/differentiate colors and shapes.

- Ability to understand and follow verbal direction and written instructions provided from drawings, diagrams, pictures, policies, procedures and/or work instructions.
- Ability to utilize standard computer equipment including, but not limited to a computer, printer, keyboard, mouse, scanner, etc.
- Ability to effectively interact, collaborate and communicate with a diverse group of employees.
- Ability to work and move safely throughout the entire facility.
- Ability to safely lift & carry up to 25 pounds.

- Position operates in a warehouse environment. Exposure to nominal noise levels generated from handheld tooling, and material handling equipment. Additional exposure to varying temperature ranges based on weather conditions.
Education/Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
