Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise weekend kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team atmosphere
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals with precision, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency during meal services
- Implement and monitor food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and compliant kitchen environment
- Follow preset menus that meet dietary needs and preferences, incorporating diverse culinary techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling best practices
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, grills, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Ensure all food is prepared according to dietary guidelines and quality standards while maintaining timely service delivery
Experience
- Proven dietary aide experience or similar roles within the food industry with a focus on meal preparation and food safety management
- Extensive culinary experience with fine dining or restaurant backgrounds demonstrating strong food handling skills
- Skilled in various cooking techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production for large volumes
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and catering operations in high-volume settings
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, operating kitchen equipment safely, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Previous leadership experience in a culinary environment is preferred to effectively manage weekend shifts and team coordination
- Strong knife skills combined with comprehensive understanding of dietary department requirements enhance overall kitchen performance
