We’re looking for a Part-Time Recreational Therapist who’s passionate about helping people rediscover joy, build skills, and connect in ways that truly support recovery.
What You’ll Do
- Lead fun, therapeutic activities like art, music, games, fitness, and life-skills groups
- Turn everyday moments into opportunities for growth and confidence-building
- Get to know patients and help them set goals that matter to them
- Collaborate with an awesome team of nurses, therapists, and providers
- Document progress (the not-so-glamorous part, but we’ll keep it simple!)
- Create a safe, welcoming environment where patients feel supported and engaged
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation Therapy or in a Creative Art Therapy field (i.e., Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Dance Therapy or Psychodrama); or a major in a related therapeutic discipline including occupational therapy. Master’s degree, preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, behavioral health, or long-term care preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work a full time or part time schedule that includes some evenings
- CTRS certification preferred
- A creative spark and a heart for behavioral health
- Energy, empathy, and strong people skills
- Ability to balance structure with spontaneity
