Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, and memory care requirements. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, toileting (changing depends or pull ups) , grooming, and mobility assistance using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents during mealtimes to promote independence.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and activity spaces.
- Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and mental stimulation.
- Follow established care plans and document all care activities accurately to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, autism support, and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Certification or training in first aid, CPR, medication administration, and HIPAA compliance is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for caregiving are essential qualities for success in this role.

- The shift that is available: Sunday & Monday – Off, Tuesday & Wednesday 1:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday & Friday 4:00pm to 12:00am, and Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm. The shift is not negotiable, Holidays and weekends REQUIRED. This is a set schedule that does not rotate Holidays or weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Able to assist with transfers, self-care needs, self-preservation, and behavioral interventions. This may include bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, crawling, reaching, walking, driving, traveling, kneeling, and crouching.
