Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in excavator operation to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery safely and efficiently to support various construction projects. Responsibilities
- Operate excavators with precision to perform digging, trenching, grading, and material handling tasks on construction sites.
- Safely operate other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling rigs, and paving machinery as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to coordinate equipment usage and project timelines effectively.
- Assist in site preparation activities including excavation, grading, and material movement to support construction progress.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment operation hours, maintenance records, and safety checks.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience driving heavy trucks such as dump trucks, water trucks, or tanker vehicles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and horizontal drilling rigs.
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards and practices.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and routine maintenance on heavy machinery.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
