About Utah Prep Academy
Utah Prep Academy is a growing college-preparatory school in Southern Utah serving student-athletes from across the United States and around the world. Our students pursue high-level academics and athletics in an environment designed to prepare them for college and life beyond school.
A significant portion of our students live on campus, making Utah Prep their home away from home during the school year. As our student and boarding community continues to grow, we are strengthening the health and support services surrounding our students.
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as our School Nurse & Student Health Coordinator and become the central point of coordination for student health services at Utah Prep.
Position Summary
The School Nurse & Student Health Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operation of Utah Prep’s Health Services function. This individual will serve as the primary clinical point of contact for students during regular school hours, providing nursing assessment and care while coordinating the broader health needs of our student population.
Primary responsibilities include managing the campus Sick Bay, assessing student illnesses and injuries, administering authorized medications, maintaining confidential health records, coordinating outside medical care, following up after treatment, and communicating appropriately with parents, guardians, health care providers, and authorized school personnel.
This position works closely with Residential Life, Athletics, school administration, parents and guardians, and local health care providers to ensure that students receive timely, appropriate, and well-coordinated care.
Primary ResponsibilitiesStudent Health and Nursing Care
- Provide initial nursing assessment for students experiencing illness, injury, pain, symptoms, or other health concerns.
- Provide appropriate nursing care and first aid within the nurse’s professional scope of practice.

- Determine when a student may appropriately rest and be monitored on campus and when outside medical evaluation is necessary.
- Provide follow-up support for students recovering from illness, injury, or medical treatment.
