American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry Oncology unit within an academic hospital setting
-
Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy cases undergoing diagnostic services and symptom management, and patients requiring comorbidity management
-
Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4

Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (7:00–19:30 days / 19:00–7:30 nights); shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs

Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Special equipment in use includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds

Epic EMR experience is required

Active OH or Compact RN license required

BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care and management, PICC line management, IV insertion, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management, and ABG interpretation

2 professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; no coworker references accepted

Oncology experience preferred but not required

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Local candidates are accepted

Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation

RTO must be requested at the time of submission and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration

Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet as quickly as possible upon receipt
