Join our team as a PRN Radiologic Technologist!
In this role, you’ll work alongside our physicians and clinical team to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging while delivering an exceptional experience to our patients. You’ll have the opportunity to use your skills in a fast-paced orthopedic and sports medicine environment while working with a team that values professionalism, teamwork, and excellent patient care.
Welcome and escort patients to the appropriate radiology area.
Review and verify x-ray orders in the EMR before performing examinations.
Prepare and position patients for imaging while prioritizing comfort, safety, and proper positioning.
Perform high-quality diagnostic x-rays using appropriate radiation safety precautions and protective equipment.
Capture, process, and transmit images according to established protocols.
Return patients to their exam rooms once imaging is complete.
Maintain a professional and compassionate experience for every patient.
Radiology Operations & Equipment
Import outside imaging studies into the PACS system.
Monitor radiology supplies and communicate inventory needs or shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
Ensure radiology equipment is functioning properly and promptly report maintenance concerns.
Perform routine equipment and safety checks to support regulatory compliance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe radiology environment.
Transfer images to discs or other approved media when requested.
Maintain and follow established radiology and patient safety procedures.
Comply with OSHA requirements related to dosimeter readings, radiation safety, and quality assurance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma required
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiology program
- ARRT license required
- Full-scope X-ray Operator license from State of Tennessee required
- Experience taking and transmitting radio-graphic images
- Working knowledge of managed care basics and experience working with a managed care and Medicare population
- Working knowledge of electronica medical records and word processing software
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
- Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
