Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions, and provide exceptional patient care. Duties
- Conduct thorough ophthalmic patient examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and assessment of ocular health using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment.
- Diagnose eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, refractive errors, and other disease states related to eye health.
- Perform contact lens fittings and provide guidance on lens selection, care, and maintenance.
- Manage disease states through medical treatment plans, medication prescriptions, and patient education on eye health maintenance.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems to accurately document patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively while maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Communicate clearly with patients about diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive measures while providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid license to practice optometry with relevant certifications in ophthalmology or optometry practice standards.
- Proven experience in optical experience, ophthalmic diagnosis, and medical treatment knowledge.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy of the eye, and medical terminology related to eye health.
- Proficiency in using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment and medical records management systems such as EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Ability to perform ophthalmic consultations, vital signs assessment, contact lens fitting, and disease state management effectively.
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient care and education in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
