The Nursing Supervisor works with the Nursing Staff of the facility. He/She plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the nursing functions for the professional and non-professional nursing personnel to ensure the highest quality of care is provided in a cost effective manner with the residents in the facility. This is done in an efficient and timely manner with consideration for both health care and legal responsibilities of the resident, the facility and the employees. The Supervisors’ role within the chain of command is to act as a resource person, providing the necessary information and assistance to the staff which will enable them to perform their duties and responsibilities in the best manner possible. The Supervisor serves as a primary communication link among shifts and units.
Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing staff and ensure high-quality patient care during weekend shifts.
- Administer IVs and manage catheterization procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide supervision and support to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Respond to emergencies and implement basic life support measures when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes and streamline operations.
Qualifications
- Current RN License
- Proven management and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficient in IV insertion and catheterization
- Knowledge of EHR systems, including Epic and Cerner
- Strong patient care skills with a background in critical care and long-term care
- Familiarity with basic life support and airway management techniques
- Experience in team management and nurse management practices
Pay: $41.00 - $46.00 per hour
