Overview
Bobby’s Painting Company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Professional Painting & Coatings Technician to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves performing high-quality residential and commercial painting, surface preparation, and specialty coating applications. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, maintains a strong work ethic, and consistently delivers excellent results for clients.
This position requires hands-on training with a variety of painting techniques, tools, and materials, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team while meeting project timelines and quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Execute painting and coating applications using hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and other equipment with precision.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately determine project scope and specifications.
- Apply specialty coatings such as stucco, industrial paints, or restoration finishes according to project requirements.
- Perform trim carpentry, fixture installation, masonry work, and drywall finishing as needed for comprehensive surface treatment.
- Maintain safety standards on construction sites by handling scaffolding, working at heights, and operating welding or concrete finishing tools responsibly.
- Collaborate with team members on renovation projects involving framing, plastering, masonry, or remodeling tasks to ensure seamless project execution.
Experience
- Experience in residential and commercial painting projects with a strong understanding of construction site protocols.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding systems, and airless paint spraying equipment efficiently.
- Knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate finishes and coatings that meet client expectations.
- Familiarity with basic math for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating processes and project planning is a plus.
- Prior work on industrial painting projects or renovation sites demonstrates adaptability across diverse environments.
