Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all ingredients
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation for daily service or special catering events
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and appliances through regular cleaning routines
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely service
- Adhere strictly to safety standards during food production and equipment operation
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with strong kitchen skills
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe adherence
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production
- Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen team members
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, catering, or serving is advantageous
- Understanding of food handling regulations and food industry best practices
