Our Water Business has a unique opportunity for a Licensed Resident Engineer to support the construction of various water and wastewater facilities in the Tri-State area, we’ll capitalize on your expertise as well as partner with you on continued professional growth.
As the Resident Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
Planning and developing the project
Communicate exceptionally well with the project team, and work to mitigate or eliminate project risks to schedule, budget, safety, or quality.
Serve as the primary project interface with the client, designer, contractor, operation staff, and ongoing construction contracts as well as outside agencies/stakeholders.
Monitor the construction contractor’s operations for process conformance with the approved construction documents including but not limited to the project contract, specifications, quality control plan, safety plans, schedule, request for information (RFIs), change orders, pay requests, record drawings and contract closeout.
Manage and report on the status of the project schedule and budget, monitor and document contract progress and make recommendations to the engineer and client for contractor payments, change orders, and requests for information (RFIs).
Lead project meetings with engineers, contractors, clients and stakeholders.
Conduct site meetings, coordinate and oversee field activities for testing and inspection reviews.
Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost control, schedule control, change management, risk management and performance.
Conduct constructability reviews and reports of project designs prior to construction.
Establish a rapport to deliver a cooperative partnership between the client, contractor, and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project.
Client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, proposal preparation, oral presentation, and contract negotiation consistent with established business development processes.
Demonstrate effective risk management and mitigation practices through proper risk identification, assessment, tracking and communication.
Establish project forecasts, schedule, financial reports and prepare invoices.
Ensure that senior leadership is apprised of all deviations from the project baseline data (i.e. original scope, schedule, budget, etc.).
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
Licensed Resident Engineer
Substantial years of experience in construction management/resident engineering experience
Professional Engineer License (PE)
Fluent in written English
Must be proficient in the use of computers to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Knowledge and experience with construction scheduling
Must possess the physical ability to move around an active construction site
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Experience with NYCDEP
Working knowledge of E-Builder
CCM certification
Proficient with web based construction document management platforms
Excellent team leader/player with exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver results
Working knowledge of construction scheduling and document controls software
Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams
Excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, and strong data analysis & technical problem-solving skills

145,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $145,000.00 to $210,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
