This multi-state hospitality company looking for a controller / treasurer that manages company money, financial books, and taxes. This role leads accounting, banking, cash flow, and all company tax compliance (sales, payroll and personal property). This position reports directly to the CFO and oversees a team of 4-5
The Controller / Treasurer is a highly-motivated, creative thinker with a strong analytical background that directs and provides leadership in Accounting and Financial Analysis. Responsible for day-to-day management of accounting operations including accounts payable, corporate tax administration, and the general ledger. The Controller / Treasurer also oversees the period-end closing process ensuring the Company’s general ledger reconciles to supporting records and subsidiary ledgers and is responsible for compliance with general accepted accounting principles and that all costs incurred are recorded in correct period.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounting: Manage the general ledger, period closes, and financial statements.
- Treasury: Monitor cash flow, bank accounts, and debt.
- Tax Compliance: File payroll taxes and sales taxes on time.
- Reporting: Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash reports.
- Internal Controls: Build and monitor controls over cash and data.
- Staffing: Manages 4-5 accounting team members.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Five to ten years in accounting or finance.
- Education: Degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred.
- Tax Knowledge: Strong experience & knowledge of multi-state payroll and sales tax laws.
- Software: Expert user of Excel.
- The ability to connect analytical thinking to business outcomes is a must.
- Strong reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting background.
- Ability to think analytically and manage multiple priorities.
- Proactively research issues and develop a plan to solve problems.
- Performs a variety of tasks which require flexibility, eagerness to learn and effective time management.
- In-depth understanding of the account reconciliation process supporting the general ledger accounts.
- Effective management and leadership skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability & desire to work on-site in an office setting. This is not a remote position.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, and LICENSES
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
