General Manager – Ego's Karaoke Bar (Austin, TX)
Ego's is seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead one of Austin's most iconic neighborhood bars.
Locally owned and operated by the same ownership for more than 45 years, Ego's has built its reputation on community, hospitality, great staff, and loyal regulars. We're looking for someone who can help continue that tradition by leading a strong team, maintaining a positive culture, and ensuring an exceptional experience for both guests and staff.
This is a working management position. The majority of scheduled shifts will be bartending shifts, and a significant portion of compensation comes from bartending and tips. The General Manager serves as the day-to-day leader of the venue while working directly alongside the team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading, training, scheduling, and supporting staff
- Fostering a positive culture built on communication, accountability, teamwork, and respect
- Ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent customer service
- Addressing employee and guest concerns professionally and effectively
- Monitoring inventory, placing orders, and maintaining operational standards
- Completing nightly paperwork and ensuring procedures are followed correctly
- Assisting with event setup, decorations, promotions, and day-of-event operations
- Working required bartending shifts, including Fridays and Saturdays
Qualifications:
- Previous management experience in a bar, restaurant, nightlife, or hospitality environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Current TABC certification required
Compensation & Schedule:
- Hourly management pay based on experience
- Four bartending shifts per week required
- Friday and Saturday bartending shifts required
- Significant earning potential through bartending and tips
- Additional management hours scheduled as needed

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
