Qualifications:

Graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy.

Experience in Durable Medical Equipment preferred but not required.

Must hold a current Arkansas Respiratory Care License.

Must be capable of delivering appropriate care to patients from neonate through geriatric with regards to age specific considerations.

Candidate must be able to assemble and disassemble equipment. Candidate must also be knowledgeable of all DME equipment and able to teach families and patients.

Strong understanding of healthcare systems, insurance, and community resources.
Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the overall provision of Respiratory Care, including the planning, developing and implementation of respiratory programs. Responsible for taking orders, delivering, and setting up equipment and instructing patient and/or family members on how to operate, maintain and clean all types of DME equipment. Responsible for scheduling and attending follow up visits for Respiratory Equipment. Will also assist in any other area of DME if needed and time permits.
Key Responsibilities:

Complies with all applicable policies and procedures.

Verifies patient eligibility for equipment/service.

Processes correct paperwork upon delivery or service call.

Performs over the counter sales functions; handles cash transactions efficiently and accurately when needed.

Maintains knowledge of how to operate, set up and maintain all equipment provided by the DME.

Performs set up of all modes of oxygen therapy.

Sets up CPAP and BILEVEL units correctly.

Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.

Other duties as assigned.
