Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; report changes to healthcare professionals promptly
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Help with meal preparation and feeding to meet nutritional needs and dietary restrictions
- Operate patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts and utilize proper manual handling techniques for safe patient transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Document patient observations, care activities, and progress accurately in care records
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living, or home health care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, or neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to provide specialized support
- Ability to perform patient monitoring, assist with ADLs, and utilize patient transfer methods safely and effectively
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or manual handling are advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities supports a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with patient transfers safely
