Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed speech-language pathologists to support the delivery of speech therapy services across various settings, including schools, clinics, and telehealth platforms. Your primary focus will be to assist in implementing therapy plans, support children with communication challenges, and promote effective language development. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in developing and executing individualized speech therapy plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Support children with language disorders, speech delays, and articulation issues through engaging therapy activities.
- Implement early intervention strategies for young children with communication challenges, ensuring adherence to their treatment plan goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including educators, occupational therapists, and medical professionals—to coordinate comprehensive care approaches.
- Utilize your knowledge of physiology and anatomy to accurately support therapy techniques and monitor progress.
- Provide telehealth therapy sessions when required, ensuring effective virtual communication and intervention delivery.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to update progress, clarify treatment plans, and foster a supportive environment.
Skills
- Prior experience working with students or children in educational or clinical settings, especially those with speech and language delays and disorders.
- Strong understanding of speech-language pathology principles, including speech disorders support and language development strategies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pediatrics and communication disorders.
- Familiarity with anatomy and physiology relevant to speech production and swallowing functions.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in both school-based and healthcare environments.
- Experience supporting clients through speech-language therapy plan implementation and progress tracking.
- Competence in managing telehealth therapy sessions using modern digital platforms.
- Bilingual skills are highly valued for serving diverse populations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, and colleagues professionally.
- Knowledge of early intervention practices and experience working within IEP frameworks is preferred.
