RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under immediate supervision of the care for elementary school children in a site-based before and after school child care program; to assist the Director in program operation; and to perform other related duties.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: May perform any combination of the following:
- Supervises small groups and individual children following established activity plans ● Organizes games, crafts and other activities ● Supervises quiet times and homework preparation periods ● Observe and control student behavior according to school discipline procedures ● Assist in the maintenance of an orderly and clean environment ● Prepare and serve snacks ● Assist in maintaining records for program and in collecting fees and explaining program procedures to parents, and perform other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent ● Effective communication skills along with the ability to relate to student and parents with a multi-cultural background. ● Current First Aid and CPR certifications ● Offer of employment contingent upon satisfactory completion of pre-placement medical exam, including drug testing and fingerprint clearance
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to supervise students in order to maintain appropriate safety and order ● Ability to follow oral and written instructions and directions

Pay: $17.97 - $19.81 per hour
