Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Prelitigation Attorney to join our legal team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing early-stage legal disputes, conducting thorough case evaluations, and developing strategic approaches to resolve claims efficiently. Your expertise will help prevent unnecessary litigation by providing sound legal counsel, negotiating settlements, and preparing cases for potential court proceedings. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case assessments and strategy development
- Review and analyze incoming claims, complaints, and client communications to determine the appropriate prelitigation course of action
- Draft and negotiate settlement agreements, demand letters, and other legal documents with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Prepare detailed case files including procedural law documentation, depositions summaries, and litigation timelines
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing evidence, coordinating with experts, and drafting pleadings or motions as needed
- Engage in client communication to gather facts, explain legal options, and provide updates on case progress
- Maintain accurate case management records and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements throughout the prelitigation process
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience in general & commercial litigation, personal injury law, employment law, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of procedural law, statutory research methods, and legal drafting techniques
- Excellent research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms for case law analysis
- Demonstrated ability in legal negotiation, client communication, and advocacy within a professional setting
- Familiarity with court depositions, trial preparation processes, and legal motion procedures
- Experience with contract drafting, settlement negotiations, and pretrial case management tools

Pay: $95,310.28 - $140,373.67 per year
