American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down position at a large Level I Trauma Center academic medical center, requiring ventilator and tracheostomy experience.

Step-down unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center academic medical center with over 1,500 staffed beds
-
Pulmonary patient population including ventilated patients and those undergoing vent weaning, with tracheostomy cases
-
Average patient ratio of 1:5-6, with the possibility of taking up to 5 non-vent patients in addition to vented assignments

Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call required
-
Floating required and may occur frequently between sister units NP1 and EP 4-6

Charting via Epic

Parking available at $125/month

Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start)

Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required

Step-down or similar unit experience in a large trauma center or academic medical center setting required

Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions

1 professional reference required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler

Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved by the facility

Block scheduling is not available for this position

Royal blue scrubs required
