Overview:
At Jungle Town Day Care, we care for children ages 3 months to 5 years in a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment. Built on faith, integrity, and a deep commitment to the children and families we serve, we're looking for a dependable Part-Time Teacher / Floater to support our classrooms and help every child's day run smoothly.
This is a set part-time schedule — a great fit for experienced educators who want meaningful classroom work without full-time hours.
Our Core Values
Every member of our team is expected to reflect our eleven core values, rooted in Christian biblical standards: Faith, Workmanship, Respect, Integrity, Excellence, Compassion, Safety, Servant Leadership, Community, Confidentiality, and Growth.
What you'll do
- Step into classrooms across age groups (infant through pre-K) to maintain proper child-to-staff ratios and provide coverage for breaks, lunches, and absences
- Lead age-appropriate activities and daily routines using the Abeka curriculum when covering a classroom
- Follow each lead teacher's routines and support a consistent, structured day — learning, play, meals, and rest
- Assist with meals, rest time, diapering/toileting, and transitions
- Maintain a safe, clean, well-organized classroom at all times
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff
- Uphold all licensing, safety, and documentation requirements
What we require
- 1+ year of recent, hands-on experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or comparable program (within the last 3 years)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfort working with multiple age groups, from infants through pre-K
- Ability to pass a state-mandated background check and fingerprint screening
- Flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to stay calm and focused in a busy environment
- Reliability and punctuality — especially important in a coverage role, and non-negotiable for us
Preferred (a plus, not required)
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- Coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education
- Familiarity with the Abeka curriculum
- Bilingual
Schedule:
- Part-time, set schedule: Monday - Friday, 25 - 30 hours per week
- May be asked to work at any of our three centers, which are open Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Dependable attendance on scheduled days is essential
