At Better Baseball, everything we do starts with the player. Since day one in Atlanta, our mission has been simple: give players the Selection, Expertise, and Experience they need to perform at their highest level. We carry the best baseball and softball gear in the game, and we back it with world-class in-store experiences that go far beyond browsing shelves. We’re not just selling equipment. We’re building a home for the game in every market we enter. Houston, Texas is next. Fall 2026, and we can’t wait to meet you.
Better Baseball Houston (Katy) is opening Fall 2026 — join the founding team. Better Baseball is hiring a Glove World Specialist who lives and breathes gloves, from the moment a player walks in looking for their perfect fit to the day that same glove comes back in need of new life. You’ll start by fitting players into the right glove for their position, hand, and playing style, because performance begins before the first catch. From there, you’ll assess, repair, and restore gloves to peak condition through expert relacing, reconditioning, and rebuilding, keeping every player’s most trusted piece of equipment game-ready for the long haul. This role is equal parts craftsperson and player advocate. Strong hands-on skills, deep knowledge of glove construction and materials, and a genuine passion for helping players perform at their highest level are a must.
- Player Experience: Work directly with players to understand their position, playing style, and personal preferences, guiding them to the glove that gives them the best chance to perform at their highest level
- Assessment: Evaluate gloves with a trained eye, diagnosing wear, damage, and structural issues to determine exactly what each one needs to return to peak performance
- Repair Techniques: Execute expert repairs including full relacing, leather conditioning, patching, and pocket rebuilding, restoring the function, feel, and durability that turns a worn-out glove back into a player’s most trusted tool
- Customization: Modify gloves to match individual player preferences, adjusting pocket depth, finger stalls, and break, so every player leaves with a glove that feels like an extension of their hand
- Quality Control: Ensure every repair that leaves your bench meets the Better Baseball standard for durability, functionality, and game-readiness
- Inventory Management: Maintain a well-stocked, organized repair station, managing lacing, leather, tools, and conditioning supplies so you’re always ready to execute
