Position Summary:
Union Day School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher Assistant to support instructional and administrative needs within the school. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a teacher assistant or relevant classroom experience and demonstrate a commitment to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Support: Assist the classroom teacher with day-to-day activities, including classroom management, organizing materials, preparing instructional resources, and providing one-on-one or small group support to students.

Instructional Assistance: Support students in understanding and completing assignments.

Student Supervision: Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and other non-instructional periods as needed, maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Collaborative Planning: Work with teachers to implement lesson plans, gather materials, and adapt instructional activities to meet individual student needs.

Data Collection and Reporting: Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and assisting in maintaining accurate records of student performance.

Resource Preparation: Help prepare materials for instruction and assessments, supporting the teacher with resources that enhance students’ inquiry-based learning.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of an associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree in education or a related field preferred.

Experience: At least one year of experience as a teacher assistant or related classroom role required; prior experience in an IB school is a plus.

Skills: Strong organizational skills and adaptability.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
