Responsibilities
-Assist ophthalmologist in providing patient care and performing ophthalmic tests
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits
- Obtain and record chief complaint, patient medical history and medication reconciliation
- Perform visual acuity tests, refraction, tonometry, OCT, Visual Field, Fundus Photography and other diagnostic tests as directed by the ophthalmologist
- Administer eye drops and provide counseling to patients as instructed by the ophthalmologist
- Complete administrative tasks such as coordinating patient appointments, medication prior authorizations and schedule surgical cases
Experience:
- Previous experience working as an ophthalmology technician, medical assistant or in a similar role is preferred
-Pre Medical/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner/Dental/Nursing Students Encouraged to Apply!
-Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
