Summary
We are seeking a General Manager that has sales experience for our Dayton location. Candidates should have managerial experience and some building materials knowledge.
The General Manager will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Qualified candidates will direct and coordinate activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Determine staff requirements, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of new workers.
- Provides required discipline, evaluations, and feedback constructively.
- Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Department Manager for action.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 10 or more employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the manufacturing industry or similar field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans that drive business success.
- Experience in financial management and budget oversight is preferred.
